SCHALLER’S DIE-CAST ZINC STANDARD OF QUALITY
Durability, aesthetics, leight weight and perfect sonic capabilities
With more than 60 years of sound defining history zinc hardware presents a unique balance of benefits other materials have yet to match. Strike a note on a ’59 Les Paul and you’ll understand why zinc has always been a part of the magic.
Schaller’s high density die-cast zinc parts offer the best overall resonant frequencies along with natural sustain and stunning dynamics.
But Zinc is Not Just Zinc
We buy and use the most expensive zinc on the market. Our zinc is guaranteed 100 % pure and virgin and free of remelt and release agents. Contrary to our production principles zinc sprue waste normally gets re-used many times over resulting in an inferior zinc formula.
It is safe to say that our standard of quality is not common in our industry.
We also use the very best release agent to remove the casted parts force- and damage-free from the mold this way avoiding harm to their structures and surfaces.
And we apply the newest technologies in designing our molds to achieve minimal turbulence and air residue in the injected melt. This is crucial as air has always been the number one sound dampener in poorly die-casted instrument hardware parts. Research shows that these measures not only avoid gas porositiy defects but greatly help the sonic capabilities.
Our new technologies also allow for a consistent cooling process and help us rule out inherent tensions in the finished parts.
